An FAQ of sorts.
- Q: Help! What is this disc golf garbage?
- A: It's similar to real golf. Grab a frisbee and start at the tee box, then throw your disc toward the designated pin. Each hole has a par based on it's difficulty. Score holes relative to its par. For example, if you have 5 throws on a par 3 hole, you are +2. Add all your scores together to derive your score for the round.
- Q: Any other rules?
- A: We play with penalties for hitting things (1 point for cars, 2 for people, etc.). There's also a 2 point penalty for landing it in a fenced-off construction area. Be courteous! Yell "Fore!" and try not to hit things.
- Q: Who can play?
- A: Anybody. No restrictions, we don't own the campus.
- Q: What kind of disc do I need?
- A: Any plastic frisbee. Most of us play with Discraft 175g's, but any old piece of plastic will do. However, true golf discs (smaller & more dense discs) will break windows and dent cars rather easily. Don't use those. Older discs are recommended, fresh ones will get pretty jacked up skidding across pavement.
- Q: Why are there 20 holes? And a bonus hole?
- A: Shut up.
- Q: When's a good time to play?
- A: Night time during the weekdays, usually after 11pm. Less people and less cars mean less accidents.
- Q: Hey I heard this was illegal on campus or some ish!
- A: Naw 'B. AUPD says they don't know nothin' bout it.
- Q: I've got another question...
- A: Fire away. Ask and you shall receive.
